The new Castle is a blend of classic platforming and puzzle-solving, set in a dark and eerie castle. Your goal is simple: escape. But don’t expect it to be easy, death is lurking around the corner
Castles are a popular theme in MSX games, and as you might expect, in this game simply called The new Castle, you find yourself trapped in one of those. How your brave knight in shining armor ended up there remains a mystery to unravel. Nevertheless, you need to get out of there as fast as you can.
This knight might have a fierce sword, seemingly ready to strike down any foe, but it’s completely useless in this game. The knight probably never received proper training, as you can’t even swing the blade here. So, you have to rely on your dodging skills and a bit of luck. There are some items to aid you along the way, but be cautious, as this game is unforgiving. One touch means death – simple, effective, and brutal.
Designed for the MSX1 system, this game is provided as a 256KB ASCII-16 ROM. A manual is included, offering instructions in both Italian and English, and even a little cheat script for openMSX.
