We go full circle again by adding another MSXdev game to the loot box and it’s NOP’s Sales Discontinued this time.
Let’s rewind to MSXdev22, where NOP’s masterpiece “Sales Discontinued” ranked high in the jam. It was a game that pushed the limits of what was thought possible on MSX computers, so massive it came on an HDD image. Now, this same slice of 8-bit brilliance has made its way into the MSXdev26 winners-loot-box. Talk about coming full circle.
The game Sales Discontinued takes you on a point-and-click adventure with scalable full-color images and digitized OPL4 sounds adding to the experience. Its presentation and gameplay are truly unique. But let’s be honest, that’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from NOP, right? NOP’s trademark “no‑nonsense, technically tight” design is clearly visible here. With this game, NOP took MSX gamers on an unprecedented quest, leaving the crowd in awe and a mystery still waiting to be solved. Yeah, much WOW! indeed.
The game comes straight from the NOP team to the dev26 loot box, possibly even signed for the die-hard fans. Sales Discontinued is packaged on a physical SD card, which you can plug into an MSX extension cartridge or copy to existing storage. The SD card sits snug in its own full-color package, complete with a manual. This is a true collector’s item, with only a limited number of copies available, and we’ve got two of them to give away!
