Digger, created by Windmill Software in 1983 for the IBM PC and now recreated for MSX by Code Busters, stands as a classic example of early maze games from the arcade era. Its straightforward design made it easy to grasp your objective at a glance, simple yet highly effective.
Dig, dig, and dig to more; that’s the only secret to grab all the hidden emeralds and reach the next level while avoiding those annoying beasts chasing you whenever you go in this game called Digger. And don’t forget, as in any good mine, there is gold everywhere.
While MSXdev26 aims at the MSX1 standard exclusively, when Digger is booted on an MSX2 or higher generation system, it ads some extra features when pressing F2.
Digger can also be played with 2 players taking turns, and supports the online MSX game scores using game codes. Combine that with the ability to save directly to the cartridge ROM, and you’ve got a complete game setup perfect for a rainy Sunday.
Now, dig in.
