Go Figure is a horizontal scrolling runner-style game for the MSX2 driven by immersive OPL4 soundscapes. Guide your icon through scrolling landscapes filled with obstacles, patterns, and surprises, all building toward the finish line. A fresh and spirited adventure crafted with care by Fabulous 8bit.
Geometry Dash, released in 2013 by RobTop Games, defined a modern take on the side‑scrolling runner. Its core idea was deceptively simple: one button, one icon, one goal, survive. Yet that simplicity hid a razor‑sharp design philosophy built around rhythm, timing, and pattern recognition.
Fabulous 8bit distilled that concept into an MSX2 experience, pushing the hardware limits while letting the OPL4 soundtrack set the pace.
In Go Figure, you control a nimble little icon with nothing more than a tap on the space bar to make it jump. Simple and easy… or so you’d think. What could possibly be difficult about that? Well, this game is deceptively brutal and utterly unforgiving; one mistake it’s retry time. Fortunately, there are mid‑level checkpoints and unlimited attempts, so you can keep throwing yourself at the challenge until you finally nail it.
The challenge ramps up fast: plain obstacles that demand precision, portals that flip your perspective, and platforms that require perfect timing to cross. With 10 levels of pure insanity, this runner will test your reflexes, your patience, and your nerves.
You wanted a challenge? Go Figure has one waiting for you.
Go Figure runs on an standard MSX2 with memory mapper and demands an OPL4 with 640KB of sample RAM. When using openMSX, the default “moonsound” extension provides exactly what the game needs. Because the game relies on features not supported by webMSX, there is no “play online” option for this entry.
