If you’ve been keeping up with the MSX scene lately, you know the NOP team pulls off things no one else does. They specialize in seemingly impossible features for the 8-bit wonder and absolutely nail it. One of their tricks is pushing the 3-channel PSG to its limits by streaming audio through it with a clarity that blows us away every time. The game Asteroids takes full advantage of that—and then some.
We’re about to travel back to the year 1979 to experience the classic game Asteroids, but with a 2026 twist. Take control of the GSDC Starhammer, a ship fully equipped with rail cannons, turrets, and other cool features, and wipe out the incoming debris from the Kuiper Belt. Engage!
